The Lions Club of Savannah
Annual Broom Sale

"A Tradition Since 1950"

    The Lions Club of Savannah Annual Broom Sale accomplishes three objectives:

  1. To provide money for our charitable projects;

  2. To provide productive work for many blind people thereby giving them a brighter outlook on life besides keeping them from depending on charity to exist;

  3. To provide the Lions Club members who sell the products made by the blind the great satisfaction of unselfish participation in a program in which our citizens will cooperate.

    Plans for our first broom Sale were made in 1949 but the sale was not put on until December, 1950. This December marks the 59th consecutive year for the Clubs Broom sale.

    This year in addition to selling Christmas trees, the Lions Club of Savannah is also selling brooms, mops and mats made by the blind.
